[cobirds] Possible Gyrfalcon -Archuleta County

I observed a possible white/light gray phase Gyrfalcon today in Archuleta County on County Road 600 about 10 miles north of US 160. I only observed this bird in flight for about a minute. I saw this large falcon coming towards me and the small nearby ranch pond with strong, deep wing beats

This morning around 9:15 my sister Connie and I observed the Gyrfalcon on one of the power pole on Trilby by the dump. It stayed long enough for us to get a good scope view to verify that it was not a Prairie Falcon. We had tried earlier around 8:30 but did not see it. Joyce Takamine Boulder
