The 2 Long-billed Dowitchers continue in the Plum Creek Delta at Chatfield
this morning 11/19. There was a Wilson’s Snipe with them that made for a
nice comparison. Almost the same size with the same sewing machine feeding
type, but the LBDO has longer legs and the WISN showed the long light
colore
Following up on a cobirds post of a Tundra Swan about a week ago at Orlando
Reservoir, north Huerfano County, 3 of us went there today somewhat skeptical
it would still be there. To our surprise there were 3 Tundras along with
multiple species of ducks.

Several birders searched for the Blackbiurnian Warbler that Alan Ketchum
found yesterday and the male Summer Tanager that the DFO field trip found

After listening to the chips of all the hummingbirds likely to occur here, they
sounded most like Broad-tailed hummingbirds.
I am so frustrated at not being able to see them, because I listened to them
for several minutes. I was afraid to move because they were sitting so close
to my head in t

I was standing in my front yard at
10 am when two hummingbirds flew into my crabapple and catalpa trees. They were
chipping loudly. I instantly recognized the chips as hummingbird sounds. The
chips were very similar to those of the Broad-tailed Hummingbird, as recorded
by Sibley.
