The Gyrfalcon was present this morning along Trilby Rd., west of Taft Hill.
When I arrived at 10:40, it was perched atop an insulator on the crossbar of
one of the shorter (wooden) powerpoles, directly north of the larger steel
tower #13 and about 30 m off the road. About 5 min. later, a
I took these pictures and video this morning between 0820 and 0830 Monday
morning. It had been sunny but moved towards clouds. Temperature was about
28F and landfill and gulls were already active. No other birders obvious.
I missed both the arrival and was looking away at departure from the 4th
4 towers west of Taft Hill
