I received a call at work from the Bock's who are hosting the Varied
Thrush(es?) at 4200 Peach Way and they are overwhelmed. Their dog is not
handling the crowds well at all so they are asking that we do something to
nip this in the bud. Please, please honor their wishes and refrain from
visiting

Hi all-
Birded Sterne Park hoping for perhaps Wood Duck to add to my year list (no
luck). However, the park has several Austrian Pines, and they were covered in
sap wells. Due to the size, amount, and spacing, it is the unmistakable work of
a sapsucker. I think it being the metro area in
Forgot to sign...

spooked, but it posed nicely for me and I got some great pictures.

Today 1/7/2020 we had a Northern Pygmy-Owl at Hwy 67 and Rampart Range
road. It was down trail #787 on the SE corner of the parking lot. The eBird
list below has a recording of the Red Crossbills that were agitated by the
Owl, plus photos of each.

I saw both male sapsuckers this afternoon. One on golf course pines as reported
by other birders, but second was in pine near maintenance shed in SE corner,
not near entrance as previously reported. Second looked like same bird I and
others have seen near entrance- I doubt there are 3 of them
