It was a pretty birdy last three days in Pueblo County. Today's
highlights of what I saw with other birders: Golden-crowned Sparrow,
Yellow Palm Warbler, Red-throated, Pacific, 3 Common Loons, Red-necked
Grebe, Great Black-backed, 3 or more Lesser Black-backed, a few

For the 2nd winter in a row, Franklin's Gull has shown up at Pueblo
Reservoir in mid/late January. An adult in breeding plumage off North
Picnic Road this afternoon.

A summary of the highlights of the past week, all Garfield County except where
noted.
Red-naped Sapsucker – Centennial Park – Carbondale. (Sub-adult male?) This bird
has taken up residence in the “Yellow-bellied Sapsucker tree”. I have great
photos of both birds. Have not seen the
On our DFO trip today we had a Yellow-billed Loon and a Common Loon from
the North Boat Ramp at Chatfield. Also a Dipper under the 470 bridge to
Chatfield. And an American Pipit on the sand bar just into Chatfield after
going under the bridge. Got a few distant digiscope photos of the loons on

Today, there were two Greater Yellowlegs in the catchment basin below
the dam just south of the Hasty Campground. They undoubtedly are
wintering farther downstream on private property, but this is the first
time in almost two months that they have been seen on public property.

A (the?) first cycle Great Black-backed Gull is currently circling high above
the Larimer landfill. Maybe headed towards Horsetooth Reservoir.

A blue morph ross looks like it would have a hood and much darker body with

I searched ross/cackling hybrid on ebird and it looks very similar to the bird
at the park.
Still a very rare bird and cool
They are finally putting some water back in. I don't know how much they
will fill it this winter. There were lots of birds seemingly enjoying the
water's return today including a Pintail.

Was just out this am looking for the Ross’s. Didn’t see it, but did see a
