My wife Sandy in walking our spaniel around the neighborhood heard two
separate E. Screech-Owls vocalizing during the day. They seem to be active
now, at least in the greater DU area in Denver.

I was happy to see this post. I used to live near this location and as
mentioned, this hawk has been around since 2001 or 2002, which makes him
almost 20 years old! Here is an article in the Broomfield Enterprise in
2009 related to his recovery from the broken wing.

1.0m from 390 on south is a large prairie dog colony, most reliable place
for past 3-4 years. Seen in SE quadrant of colony at the very south end)

At 6 AM I looked at the pre-dawn silhouette of a large bird through my
skylight, assuming it would be a Red-Tail. But then it turned its head and
the outline of that beak looked just like a Turkey Vulture! So I went
