Cobirders,
I've seen the posts about flyover flocks but it looks like 2 will spend the
night out on the peninsula under the heron rookery at Tucker Lake. Will
likely still be there in the morning for any early risers. Lots of new
ducks too.
Good birding,

Hi all,
A bird that looks very good for EUROPEAN GOLDEN-PLOVER has been seen
yesterday and today at Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. This
is only a short distance south of the Colorado state line along I-25, about
4 hours south of Denver.
Quiet day, banding only 18 birds. Highlight was our third Hairy Woodpecker
of the season, who wowed everyone with his incredibly strong beak. Oh, and
2 more Rock Wrens. Here's today's breakdown:
Hairy Woodpecker 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1
Rock Wren 2
House Wren 1
Gray Catbird 1
Orange-crowned
Just saw both of them (the Sandhill Cranes)—or at least two other similarly
sized groups—flying over Cherry Creek SP between 1:30 and 1:40pm.
As couple of F-14s took off from Centennial Airport and threw the smaller crowd
into a tizzy!

Yesterday I saw the one that's been hanging around south mesa trail in
Boulder.
A lifer for me.
Fascinating that it flycatches. It certainly does not look agile enough for
that.
I got really good looks for 20 minutes. Later I reviewed the field markings
and don't
