This morning, when the sun still made it hot, we drove up the road to
Castlewood Cyn. Church, near Willow Lake Drive. The ranch there has a fence
made of metal pipes that extends to its corrals.
There we saw a flock of 7 Lark Buntings and 3 Meadowlarks, allĀ huddled in the
shade of the
Hummers like red.
A few days ago Urling & I watched a male Downy Woodpecker at the suet cage. As
we watched a hummingbird flew up and checked out the red patch on the Downy's
head. After a few seconds, it decided that the Downy did not offer delectable
nectar and flew off.

You
Hello,
I'll be visiting the Gunnison area later this month with my family (first
time to Colorado), staying in Crested Butte. My son and I are interested in
trying to look for a Gunnison Sage-Grouse during our time there. We know
that these birds are probably quite difficult/impossible to see
Several flocks of Lark Buntings flying over pastures south of Elizabeth. Males,
females, juveniles.
