Hello All!
Our second week in Grand Junction was dominated by the newly arrived
White-crowned Sparrow. We've caught 74 in the past six days. Second place
in numbers goes to the Bushtit at 19 new birds this week. A late
Yellow-breasted Chat and Virginia's Warbler were this week's highlights. We

The "late afternoon showers" yesterday started in Brighton about 3 p.m.
and did not end until after 6 a.m. this morning. Any birds that could
leave yesterday did so, and apparently nothing new arrived. We banded just
10 new birds this morning, and caught 10 others that we had banded sometime
Scissortailed Flycatcher still present in 100 yard radius of Memorial Drive and
Woodland Lane this morning.
Lamar Community College Woods was hot and quiet but did have a Nashville
Warbler, Magnolia Warbler and Black-throated Green Warbler. All west of trail
at north end, mostly in hackberries
Chris Knight and I saw a juvenile Yellow-crowned Night-Heron along the
Arkansas River, east of Valco Bridge, north of Valco Pond #4 in Pueblo this
morning. Since I believe this is still a CBRC review species, I'll
document it for the records committee. I did get photos of it.
