    The 35th Denver Urban CBC tallied 90 species (ave.  87) and 30,147 birds (ave. 39,674). We failed to cover one section of the South Platte, so that our waterfowl numbers dipped. 135 observers went out in the field and 12 watched at feeders. * We found three new birds for the count:

Just now there were 110 Waxwings in my elm trees. Half were Cedars and half were Bohemians. I was amazed to see that many, when all of a sudden 100 *more* flew in!!! 200 Waxwings -- half Bohemians! Then just as suddenly they all took off at once. What an amazing sight and noise to see and

A remarkable number of Cassin's Finches were visiting trees and feeders at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Centennial this morning. I counted at least 15, but the birds were moving a lot and disappearing into backyards, so I may have either undercounted or overcounted. I saw only immature /
