I watched a pair of Blue Grosbeaks today at Dixon Lake gleaning something
from a small elm (I think) near the gate at the north entrance. When I
looked at the leaves of the elm it seemed like at least 3 different
insects/diseases were making a mess of the leaves. So I'm not sure what
they were
I've had them every day since April 11th. Usually around 20, sometimes 40.
I'm in the Big Thompson canyon west of Loveland, East of Drake. Looks like
they are eating sunflower chips.

Estes.

I and a friend started birding at sunrise at Sawhill Ponds. I do a breeding
bird survey here every spring and wasn’t expecting to see any migrants.
South of pond 12 in the middle of the area at about 6:30 am, we were amazed
to hear a Veery sing three times!! We never saw it, but its song is
unmist
