Well, yesterday I was talking about White-crowned Sparrows starting to
predominate. Today the only birds we caught were White-crowneds. There
was a flock milling around near the front nets when we arrived and we
caught 9 of them - 8 Gambel's and 1 Mountain. And that was it for the
morning.

A big day banding at Clear Spring Ranch this morning.
The past ten days almost all migrant activity has happened in the first 30-45
minutes, mostly before sunrise, then it got pretty quiet. I’ve had 40-50 birds
each morning the last two, then 92 today, 61 before 7:00! Most
