I helped count birds for the Penrose Christmas Bird Count today, and my
area produced a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER (Pueblo area's first winter
sighting), and a male BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER. Both were from the
Sells to Raynolds portion of the Canon City Riverwalk, Fremont County.

Just wanted to report that there were more Cackling Geese than I could
possibly count at Lagerman Resevoir today, maybe a couple hundred, along
with some Barrow's Goldeneye, a couple Coots,
The Denver CBC was held yesterday, December 16th. Conditions on Count Day
and the weeks leading up to it were, well, TOO nice. Most water was open
and the many areas reported that birding was "flat" with few land and water
birds. Some feel we need a good COLD front to move more birds further
