I birded Rocky Mountain Arsenal this morning with my wife and father- in-law. We had a first winter White-throated Sparrow on the northern peak of Lake Ladora among a mixed flock of White-crowned and American Tree Sparrows. The frozen lake kept the majority of waterfowl away, with the exception of Mallards, a female Common Goldeneye, and two male Hooded Mergansers. Two Ferruginous Hawks were a highlight for me, as an eastern-U.S. resident.
