I was there this weekend. It is open. I saw mostly pipits, though a few
Brown-capped Rosy Finches as well. Dipped on Ptarmigan. There is a family of
Barrow’s Goldeneyes on Echo Lake. I did not see a male, but a female and 6 or
so young.

Dipped on the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher at Cherry Creek this afternoon. Good
FOS birds there included Green Tailed Towhee, Loggerhead Shrike, and
Yellow-headed Blackbird.
Don’t go in via the Parker Rd entrance, the park road is flooded and you cannot
go all the way ‘round.

There is a pair of burrowing owls less than 50' off the road. Find them on
the west side. Come from the north, over the first big hill, 200 yards ,
right by the fence post with the tire around the base.
There are additional owls sprinkled through this prarie dog colony; I've
seen 8 of them from t

Prairie Falcon, nor did I see any Rosy Finches.
There are a number of juncos with varying degrees of wing bar, none of which
I'd call a white-winged junco, but interesting nonetheless.

Additional note... I always thought that "glaucous" meant whitish. But it
actually means "bluish gray or green", or "silvery, bluish green". Also,
"having a powdery or waxy coating that gives a frosted appearance and tends to
rub off"

included a juvenile Peregrine sharing a thermal with a Red Tail and some White
Pelicans. Lots of White-crowned Sparrows, American Goldfinches, adult
Sharp-shinned Hawk, and a Muskrat grazing in the lawn.
