I just finished a short visit to Colorado. I had a chance to do some birding in Colorado Springs. On my early morning walk around the neighborhood a few blocks east of the Broadmoor Hotel on Wednesday, July 28, I saw a bird that I am 99% certain was a dark male Oregon form of Dark-eyed

Finishing a nice visit to Colorado with a week in Estes Park. No unusual species, but I had an interesting surprise when I found a Dark-eyed Junco (Grey-headed form) feeding TWO Brown-headed Cowbird fledglings. Quite a contrast in size, so I'm sure the Junco had its work cut out for it. Years ago
