This afternoon and off and on over the last few days, I have observed a
Mississippi Kite (and sometimes a second one) soaring over my neighborhood in
Security just south of the Widefield Community Center. These are probably the
pair that Ken Pals reported earlier in the area N and W of Watson J
Another day at Fountain Creek Nature Center w/ children, but a couple of
interesting sightings:
Lazuli bunting
Black-headed grosbeaks (3)
Lesser goldfinch
White pelicans (3)
Wood duck
Cinnamon teal

I spent a profitable morning helping to dislodge some "beaver doings" at the
south bridge at Fountain Creek Nature Center and then conducting a nature walk
for an elementary school program. Aside from the usual suspects during my
time there, I observed a Great-horned owlet, White Pelicans (4)
