He had about a dozen Snipe late this afternoon at Hecla Pond in Louisville.
Take Hecla Dr. 1 block north of So. Boulder Rd on 95th St. Louisville, CO.

Cobirders,
I had two male Red-breasted Grosbeaks in my yard at about 10 am today. They
were feeding on something in the Aspen trees and only stayed around for
about 5 minutes.

Hi,
On Dillon Rd between 287 and Lowell I had 3 Redtails, 5 Kestrels, 1 Shrike (
could not tell what kind) and 1 Meadowlark. Saw three other hawks sitting
in trees. This low hanging cloud layer has brought the birds down.

. Yes, that bird was also with a group of Greater
Scaup. It was really hard to get the word out quickly before cell phones.
Fortunately the bird stayed around for a couple of days and was seen by lots
of birder's.
Those were the days!!!

It's great to know that so many birders are contributing seed to the places
we go to bird watch. It is a great way to show our appreciation. Especially
so, now that seed has gotten so expensive.
Thank you all.

Hi,
The Sandhill Crane that Ruth Carol Cushman reported yesterday is still in
the area. We observed it in the wheat stubble field west of the road into
the South Teller Trailhead off east Arapahoe at approx 5:30 pm today.

would think there would be a larger population now that these birds have
been here for decades at least.
Any thoughts?

Yea, maybe so, but everyone knows whatunidentified means, and most of the
world doesn't know what spuh means. Seems silly to me to try to and
invent new words when we already have an adequate word to describe what we
mean.

While leaving Coal Creek Bowling Center in Louisville, two Ravens were
perched on a slanted part of the roof. One was delicately grooming the
other on the breast feathers . Carefully sliding its beak down each
separate feather. First time I have ever seen this in 20 years of birding.
