On Monday Lake Loveland had a tightly knit group of 18 Cackling Geese on the
ground area around the Lake. The Lake was frozen over but many Canada Geese
and Ring-Billed Gulls were hanging out on the grassy area. Some Mallards were
resting in the shade of a tree - guess the sun was too hot
June 25th:
Boyd Lake State Park:
Killdeer in abundance - high percentage young of the year.
2 Horned Grebes and one Gadwall Duck.
Western Grebes feeding their Grebelings. A New Word? I could be tossed
out of the Bird Watchers World for that!

Barr Lake State Park:
Road west side of the Lake - Inca Doves (2) south end of road. American
Goldfinch pair, Western Grebe and many other common species like Western
Meadowlarks, Western Kingbirds, Mourning Doves, Robins, Killdeer, etc.

May 7 = 2 Inca Doves at Boyd Lake State Park. Take the first road south -
drive past the camp ground to end of the road. They were in the parking lot at
road end. They were not skittish. Also saw 2 Swainsons Hawks north end of
same road.

activitie there so far. however today gave a lttle increase in some areas -
