The 1st-year female "Black-throated Warbler" I saw at Tempel Grove on Tuesday
was a Black-throated BLUE. Sorry for the omitted BLUE.

I wasn't trying to pursue any kind of birding marathon, but did spend some time
at a few well-known birding spots in SE Colorado these last 2 days. My summary:
Tempel Grove (Prowers) -- in over 1-1/2 hours yesterday afternoon, I found a
whopping 8 individual birds (yes, it was quiet and slow) co
I spent some time late yesterday and early today at Flagler. I found fewer
species of birds (around 40) than reported a few days ago, and no wood thrush.
But there were a few birds worth noting, including: one 1st-winter Harris's
Sparrow; two White-Throated Sparrows; one Red-bellied Woodpecker;
As of 5:00 p.m. when I left, the western gull was on the swim beach at
Chatfield, mixed in with the geese and few remaining sunbathers. From sometime
before 3:00 until just before 4:00, it had been on the Plum Creek delta, then
swam out about 50 feet before flying to the north and then west. I r
A yellow-throated vireo has been at the Boulder Creek path in the trees
immediately west of the Foothills Parkway underpass from 12-12:30, offering
good (as close as 10 feet) views. No sign of the yellow-throated warbler in
the last hour and a half, but still looking.

The long-tailed jaeger did a 5-minute loop of the northern half of the
reservoir at about 4:15 this afternoon, seen well from the Lake Loop. Last
seen flying high towards the northwest corner of the reservoir. Over at
Chatfield, the Little Gull was still present as of 2:15. Sabine's Gulls were
