Hi All - on October 14th we evacuated from our home near Storm Mountain (still
standing as far as I know). The White-crowned sparrows were still there. And
the last bird I saw was a Blue jay! Only the second spot of this bird in 4
years. Down in Longmont with family I'm enjoying seeing House sparrows again
and a new Longmont Yard Bird: Hermit Thrush on the 18th or 19th. And a nice
surprise yesterday and today of a new Yard Bird: Spotted towhee!
We're looking forward to returning home maybe next week and thanks to all
the firefighters for their work stopping the Cameron Peak fire moving south,
and for all their efforts with all the fires. Dave Hyde/ no longer near Storm
Mountain but in Longmont
