Hi all,

I did a little bit of birding at Last Chance, [intersection of hwy. 71 and hwy
36, in Washington cty], on 4/19. Not much was out there to my surprise. The
following was seen although I wasn't there long.

1, ad., m., alternate plumage Black-throated Gray Warbler, a little out his
range

1, ad., m,. Common Yellowthroat

2, Ruby-crowned Kinglet

more Eurasian Collared Doves than I would like to see

On the way out there I saw many Swainson's Hawks. This is great to see from low
#'s years ago. I saw many flocks of Chipping Sparrows in breeding plumage, in
addition to many Say's Phoebes. Many Western Meadowlarks. I heard several
Americn Pipits. And of course, Horned Larks.

Last Chance pond looks like it did 2 years ago. All the snow and rain from the
last 4 weeks has filled the hole back up with water. The bad news is there are
alot more Canadian Thistle seedlings everywhere that came up from the dryness
last summer. The Thistles pretty much filled in the muddy hole last year, and
their seeds blew everywhere. The small little opposite leaves were very
abundant.

Happy Birding!
