Cowboy - my little red dachshund - and I, went for a nice walk around Houts
today. As we were approaching the area where the Brant has been seen, I spotted
it. Then I was passed by a runner that almost tripped over the Brant as it
slowly scurried out of his way.
The birds kept walking to the wa
The Brant remains at Houts Reservoir in the same location on the SW side
of the reservoir as of 11am today. It was associated with three Canada
geese and was cooperative for photos. There were several Bonaparte's
gulls and female common mergansers along with the usual suspects out on
the water
Lake on both days. Today an first winter Harris' Sparrow was
there, too.
