Hi Birders,

At three this afternoon, we spotted a Broad-tailed Hawk over Dayton, just
north of Mississippi, and south of Alameda. Last week when I caught sight
of a Broad-tailed Hawk off I-76 in Adams County, Frank didn't get a chance
to see it. This time, while we were driving down Dayton, he was the one who
 spotted the hawk.

This hawk was a juvenile, and possibly the same one that was found at
approximately 6th and Havana a week ago. That location is a few blocks north
of the site where we spotted the bird, and separated by the east, vacant and
grassy land on the east side of old Lowry AFB.

The hawk flew low over several homes, then suddenly swooped down just to
the right of the car, apparently having caught sight of the dead rabbit by
the side of the road and taking a closer look. When we circled around to
take another glance at the bird--not a closer one, we will never be that close
to a hawk again, it was gone but the rabbit was still there.
