Hello, Birders. Yesterday, Wednesday, December 29th, Hannah and Andrew and I scouted City Park, Denver County, for Denver-Urban Christmas Bird Count, to be held Saturday, January 1st. We found:
1 Merlin 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk 2 Cooper's Hawks 7 Common Grackles 1,000+ Cackling Geese 1 Lesser Scaup We also saw 2 Red-crowned Cranes, 4 Lappet-faced Vultures, and 3 Secretarybirds... ;) Oh, and 2 of the long-staying Utility Tolouse Geese. A population of these birds has been present in City Park (well outside the zoo perimeter) for several years now, and ought to be indicated on the list for the Christmas Bird Count. ------------------------------- Ted Floyd Editor, Birding Blog: http://tinyurl.com/2g2staq Twitter: http://tinyurl.com/2ejzlzv Facebook: http://tinyurl.com/2wkvwxs ------------------------------- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
