ADAMS COUNTY:
--A Rock Wren was reported by Candice Johnson inside the Bison Enclosure at
Rocky Mountain Arsenal on May 10

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
--A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by Steve Kennedy at Cherry Creek
SP on the south side near 12 mile creek on May 5.
On May 7, Gene Rutherford reported Scissor-tailed Flycatcher by the N
entrance to Lake Loop before 9 am.  On May 8, Bob Brown
reported Scissor-tailed Flycatcher flying from Lake Loop.  The Scissor-tail
was reported by several other birders at Cherry Creek
later in the day on May 8.  On May 9, Mary Driscoll reported that the
Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was SE of Lake Loop in the morning and others
reported it at Cherry Creek SP during the day.  On May 10, Kirkpatick
reported Scissor-tailed Flycatcher at Cherry Creek SP on Road to gun club
shooting range at 1030.
--A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by Scott Manwaring east of
Bellview Pond on May 12.
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Alec Hopping at South Platte Park,
Cooley Lake (guided access only) on May 9.
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Gene Rutherford on Mary Carter Greenway
Trail in Littleton on May 10.
--A Gray Flycatcher was reorted by Alec Hopping at Cherry Creek SP  on May
12.

BACA COUNTY:
--A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by Jane Stulp in Walsh WTP on
May 5.  A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher continues
to be seen at the Thompson residence in Walsh on May 6.  If you wish to try
to see it contact Marsha Thompson at marshat AT centurytel.net to make
arrangements.  A m Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by Percival in
Walsh on May 10.
--A pair of Painted Buntings was reported by Kaempfer at Picture Canyon on
May 9.

BENT COUNTY:
--A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was reported by Lance Verhoeff in flooded fields
adjacent to CR 26.5 and CR JJ on May 6.  Please be aware the the fields and
farm roads are private property and no trespassing will be tolerated.  On
May 7, HUDSONIAN GODWIT was
reported by Drummond in flooded fields adjacent to CR 26.5 and CR JJ.  On
May 8, Austin Hess reported that the HUDSONIAN GODWIT continues in Bent
County.  On May 9, Lisa Edwards reported that the HUDSONIAN GODWIT
continues in Bent County.
--On May 8 Duane Nelson reported an ad M MOURNING WARBLER at Melody Tempel
Grove.  The CFO group reported imm Summer Tanager at Tempel Grove on May
8.  On May 10, Percival reported 2 Broad-winged Hawks at Melody Tempel
Grove.
--At Hasty Campground on May 9, Kara Carragher and Lisa Edwards reported f
CAPE MAY WARBLER, molting m Summer Tanager, and f Baltimore Oriole.  At
Hasty Campground on May 9, Komar reported  a singing Canyon Towhee.  At
Hasty CG on May 11, John Drummond reported f CAPE MAY WARBLER.
--At John Martin Reservoir on May 9, Komar reported basic plumaged RED KNOT.
--On May 9, 2 Least Terns and a Summer Tanager were reported at Lake Hasty
by Andrew Bankert.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--On May 7, Jane Baryames reported Black Phoebe at 75th St and Boulder
Creek.  On May 10, Bill Schmoker reported Black and Eastern Phoebe at 75th
St and Boulder Creek.
--A Gary Flycatcher was reported by David Dowell at Ryssby Church on N 63rd
between Prospect and Nelson on May 11.

DELTA COUNTY:
--A COMMON GROUND-DOVE was reported by Jason Beason in Paonia on Lund Road
where it meets Mathews Lane or slightly down Lund Road on Pavement on May
13.
--A Curve-billed Thrasher was reported by Robinsong along the Uncompaghre
River in Confluence Park on May 14.

DENVER COUNTY:
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Jeff Dawson at Bear Creek Park on May
10.  On May 11, Doug Kibbe reported Gray Flycatcher at Bear Creek Park.

DOUGLAS COUNTY:
--2 Eastern Phoebes were reported by Mackenzie Goldthwait upstream of
Kingfisher Bridge on May 10.
--Along the South Platte at Chatfield on May 12, Suddjian reported 3 Least
Flycatchers, Gray Flaycatcher, Rock Wren, and Broad-winged Hawk.

EAGLE COUNTY:
--A Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by JoAnn Riggle at Dotsero Ponds on May
5.

ELBERT COUNTY:
--On May 11, at East Bijou Creek  near CR 170, Suddjian reported a m
MOURNING WARBLER, Field Sparrow, and Broad-winged Hawk.
--At Big Sandy Creek near CR 188 on May 11, Suddjian reported m Painted
Bunting.
--At Big Sandy Creek near Simla on May 11, Suddjian reported Gray-cheeked
Thrush.
--At the S end of CR 153, Suddjian repored Whimbrel and McCown's Longspur.

EL PASO COUNTY:
--A Blue-headed Vireo was reported by David Tonnessen at Colorado Springs
Utilities Xeriscape Gardesn on May 10.
--A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Peterson at Big Johnson on May
7.
--At Fountain Creek RP on May 10, Ted Floyd reported Broad-winged Hawk,
Least and Gray Flycatchers.
--At Sondermann Park on May 10, Ted Floyd reported Broad-winged Hawk and 2
Gray Flycatchers.
--A Baltimore Oriole was reported by tyler Stuart at the NW corner of
Sinton Pond in Colorado Springs on May 12.  On May 13, Dan String reported
Baltimore Oriole at NW corner of Sinton Park Pond and on the s side an ad
Worm-eating Warbler.  On May 14, David Tonnessen reported Baltimore Oriole
at Sinton Pond and Robb Hinds reported Worm-eating Warbler at Sinton Pond.
On May 15, Robb Hinds and Mark Chavez reported Baltimore Oriole continues
at Sinton Pond.
--A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by Aaron Driscoll at Clear
Springs ranch on May 14.  Directions:  Take exit 123 off I-25.
Go to east side of Hwy, cross RR tracks and turn left.  The bird was
sitting on fence west side of alfalfa field.

EL PASO/PUEBLO COUNTIES (CB):
--At Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) on May 9, Bill Maynard reported
Gray-cheeked Thrush and Mountain Plovers on the El Paso side and Red-headed
Woodpecker on the Pueblo side.  A Red-headed Woodpecker was reported by Sam
Fason near the Banding Station at Chico Basin Ranch on May 10.
--On May 13, near headquarters, Percival reported 1 -2 Least Flycatchers on
May 13.

FREMONT COUNTY:
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Andrew Bankert at Sell's Pond in Canon
City on May 9.
--A Canyon Thowhee was reported by Andrew Bankert S of Florence on May 9.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--On May 8, Mark Chavez reported Eastern Phoebe upstream of Kingfisher
Bridge at Chatfield SP.  On May 12, Suddjian reported Eastern Phoebe at
Kingfisher Bridge and Eastern Phoebe at Deer Creek.
--Least Flycatcher was reported by Suddjian downstream of Kingfisher Bridge
on May 7.
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Mckenzie Goldthwait in the Horse Stable
Area at Chatfield on May 10.  On May 11, Matt Clark reported Gray
Flycathcer at Horse Stable Area of Chatfield.
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Anne Esson on the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt
on May 11.
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Norm Lewis at Welchester Tree Grant
Park on May 11.
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Scott Somershoe at Harriman Lake Park
on May 12.
--On May 13, Mark Chavez reported that the male Blue-winged Warbler has
returned to Welchester Tree Grant Park and was
eventually seen in the eastern section of the park where it was seen last
year.  On May 14, Alec Hopping reported Blue-winged Warbler at Welchester
Tree Grant Park.  On May 15, Robert Martinez reported Blue-winged Warbler
and 3 Yellow-throated Vireos at Welchester Tree Grant Park.

KIT CARSON COUNTY:
--A Wood Thrush was reported by Joey Kellner at Flagler SWA on May 8.

LA PLATA COUNTY:
--5 Acorn Woodpeckers were reported by Bea Weaver in the Rafter J
Subdivision of Durango on May 7.

LARIMER COUNTY:
--A McCown's Longspur was reported by David Wade on CR 5 N of Buckeye Road
on May 10.
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Lori Zabel at the Environmental
Learning Center in Fort Collins on May 14.

LINCOLN COUNTY:
--A light-morph Broad-winged Hawks was reported by Kaempfer in Hugo on May
8.
--A Field Sparrow and PURPLE FINCH were reported by Glenn Walbek on CR 27
on May 11.  On May 14, Walbek reported PURPLE FINCH on CR 27.
--A McCown's Longspur was reported by Mlodinow on CR S and CR 23 to Karval
on May 13.

MORGAN COUNTY:
--A Least Flycatcher was reported by Sue RIffe at Jackson Lake SP on May 11.
--A Palm Warbler was reported by Alec Hopping at Jackson Lake Sp on May 15.

OTERO COUNTY:
--On May 6, 5 Snowy Plovers were reported by Gene Rutherford at Lake
Cheraw.  On May 9, Komar reported 28 Snowy Plovers at Lake Cheraw.  On May
11, John Drummond reported 16 Snowy Plovers at Lake Cheraw.
--A White-rumped Sandpiper was reported by Andrew Bankert at Lake Holbrook
on May 9.

PHILLIPS COUNTY:
--A Summer Tanager was reported by Nathan Pieplow at Haxtun City Park on
May 15.

PROWERS COUNTY:
Lamar Community College Woods (LCCW)
--A singing Yellow-throated Vireo was reported by Gene Rutherford at LCCW
(middle area) on May 5 & 6.  On May 9, Kaempfer reported singing
Yellow-throated Vireo at LCCW.
--On May 9 in areas near LCCW, Kaempfer reported juv Broad-winged Hawk and
nesting Red-headed Woodpecker.
--A Great Crested Flycatcher was reported by Percival at  south end of LCCW
on May 10.  On May 11, Cheryl Teuton reported Great Crested Flycatcher at
south end of LCCW.
--A MOURNING WARBLER was reported by Jane Stulp at LCCW on May 11.
--A Red-bellied Woodpecker was reported by Andrew Bankert at Willow Valley
in Lamar on May 9.
--A Prothonotary Warbler was reported by Jeannie Mitchell at LCCW on May 14.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Brandon Percival at Pueblo City Park
on May 8.
--At Pueblo Reservoir on May 9, Ted Floyd reported 2 Curve-billed Thrashers
and 4 Rock Wrens.
--At Rock Canyon on May 9, Ted Floyd reported Red-headed Woodpecker, Gray
Flycatcher and Rock Wren.
--A Rock Wren was reported S of Pueblo Reservoir by Andrew Bankert on May 9.

RIO GRANDE COUNTY:
--An ad m Summer Tanager was found by Jerry Poe at Home Lake in Crabapple
Trees on May 2.  An imm m Summer Tanager was reported by Rawinski at Home
Lake Veterans Center in Monte Vista on May 10.

WELD COUNTY:
--A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was reported by Joey Kellner near LaSalle on CR 42 on
May 8.
--A LUCY'S WARBLER was reported by Leatherman at the Eaton Cemetery on May
10.  On May 12, Leatherman reported that the LUCY'S WARBLER continues at
Eaton Cemetery.  On May 12, Nick Komar reported that the LUCY'S WARBLER was
at Eaton Cemetery before nightfall with a flyover Broad-winged Hawk and
probable LESSER NIGHTHAWK.  ON May 13, Sue Riffe and several others
reported LUCY'S WARBLER at Eaton Cemetery.  On May 14, Nils Warnock
reported LUCY'S WARBLER at Eaton Cemetery.
--At Crow Valley CG on May 11, Mlodinow reported Gray-cheeked Thrush and
Fox Sparrow.  Bring your high boots if you want to bird Crow Valley.
--A White-rumped Sandpiper and Whimbrel were reported by Mlodinow at Lower
Latham Reservoir on May 11.
--A White-rumped Sandpiper was reported by Sue Riffe at Beebe Draw on May
11.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, May 16 will be to Columbine Open Space led
by Doris Cruze (cruzeduo AT aol.com, 303-798-8072).  Meet the leader at
0730 at Castle Rock McDonalds on Wolfensburger Road, exit 182, about 4
blocks east of I-25.  Will bird open space for prairier birds, pond birds,
and possible raptors.  If time permits, we will drive to hot spots along
I-25 access road on the east side of the highway.  Bring water, insect
repellent, snacks and/or sack lunch, scope if you have one.  Wear sturdy
shoes or boots for walking dirt trails.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, May 17 will be to Golden Gate Canyon State
Park led by Toni Rautus and Mary Geder (trautus AT q.com, 303-422-7322).
This trip is full.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, May 17 will be to Delaney Community Farm led
by A.J. Gest (offsetaj AT comcast.net, 303-994-2420).  Directions:  Delaney
Community Farm is on the east side of Chambers Road between Alameda Ave and
1st Ave:  170 East Chambers, Aurora.  Look for entrance just north of the
Delaney Farm sign.  Park in the lower parking lot near the corrals.    Meet
at 0730.  Bring water, sunsceen and a snack.  Scopes are optional.
   This is a new trip for DFO.  The combination of old cottonwood trees,
community gardens, mixed grass field, and toll Gate Creek provides great
habitat for many songbirds.  Portable toilets should be available but not
guaranteed.  There are public facilities at the Aurora Public Library.
These are easy walking paths but not paved.  Estimated Distance by foot is
2.5 miles.
