Rare, out-of-place and out-of-season species include: COMMON GALLINULE (Larimer) Caspian Tern (*Arapahoe, *Larimer, Morgan) EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE (Logan, *Pueblo) Baltimore Oriole (Denver) BLUE-WINGED WARBLER (Denver) Prothonotary Warbler (Routt) Northern Parula (Las Animas) Chestnut-sided Warbler (Arapahoe, *Boulder) ARAPAHOE COUNTY: —-On June 16 a Caspian Tern was reported at Cherry Creek SP by Meg Reck. —-On June 12 a (f) Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported south of Byers, where Arapahoe CR 42 (Knudtson Rd) crosses a small tributary of Rattlesnake Creek, just east of CR 181, by David Suddjian. BOULDER COUNTY: —-On June 16 a singing male Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported from Bluebell Canyon, 80 yds up McClintock Trail from the stone bridge. First reported on June 11 by Peter Gent. DENVER COUNTY: —-On June 15 a (m) BLUE-WINGED WARBLER was reported at the small pond just north of Kenyon Ave in Bear Creek Park, just outside the far NE corner of Fort Logan Cemetery. It could not be found in the area by multiple observers on June 16. First found by Douglas Kibbe in the Cemetery on June 14. —-On June 12 a Baltimore Oriole was reported from First Creek at DEN Open Space by Eric Dinkel. There are no previous eBird records of this species elsewhere in Denver County, but this is the third year in a row one has graced this spot. LARIMER COUNTY: —-On June 16 a Caspian Tern was reported at Arapahoe Bend Natural Area--fishing ponds and trails by Andy Bankert. —On June 11 a COMMON GALLINULE was reported at Wellington SWA—Schware Unit. It was first seen by Josh Bruening on April 29 at the pond north of Larimer CR 60, but there have been no reports after June 11. Drive about 1/4 mile east of Morris Reservoir, at the pond on the east end of hedgerows, on the north side of the road. Usually it is in the NW corner of the lake, near a drowned tree. LAS ANIMAS COUNTY: —-On June 12 a singing Northern Parula was reported from Trinidad by Tim Crisler. Try the northwest quadrangle of the intersection of Main & Maple St. MORGAN COUNTY: —-On June 11 (2) Caspian Terns were reported at Brush Prairie Ponds SWA (Pond #1) by Chuck Hundertmark. PUEBLO COUNTY: —-On June 16 a singing EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE was reported from the Arkansas River Trail, halfway between Pueblo Nature Center & Pueblo Blvd; first seen by Evan Carlson on June 10.
