Total of 41 species at Crow Valley (and nearby Briggsdale) yesterday.

Highlight was the constant overpass of cranes. I tallied it at 900, but there
could have been a few hundred more. After a while, the sound of small flocks
becomes background noise, despite my intent to try and count each one.

Other birds of note:

Eastern Phoebe (2, one adult out north over water pool, one young (yellowish)
bird on the fence in left field at ball diamond)

Cassin's Kingbird (1, flycatching from the dead branches of trees out north
along Crow Creek n of the Mourning Dove Trail, on schedule)

White-throated Sparrow (at least 4, all tan-striped immatures)

Barn Swallow (2 getting out of "Dodge")

Ruby-crowned Kinglet (17, eBird questioned this but I had 11 in view at one
time)

Hermit Thrush (3)

Gray Catbird (2)

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (1)

Spotted Towhee (3)

Wilson's Snipe (1)

Red and White-breasted Nuthatches (no Pygmies)

Pine Siskin (flyover)

Blue-winged Teal (16)

lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers, mostly out north

a few Orange-crowns

one Wilson's Warbler

couldn't buy any other warbler, try as I might

no sapsuckers

thought I would see hawks like the others are reporting, only did see one
Red-tail, one harrier

Western Tanager (4, all in Russian-olives)

Hardly anything in the campground, proper, despite it looking very good for
birds. Most birds were out north, from the Group Area to the Work Center along
the trail beyond the gate.
