Last evening at the Denver Botanic Gardens, Ron and I saw an adult spotted 
towhee dart across a path, then dart back the other way and hide under a bush.  
Then we saw a tiny puffball of a fledgling left looking up at us from the 
mulch...on August 18!  Another realistic touch by the very creative gardeners 
who designed that montane zone where we found the birds?

This morning we heard sandhill cranes overhead.  We live about a mile SE of 
Timnath Reservoir.
