Nina Ogilvie and I headed out along Hwy 115 near Barrett rd around 10:30 am for
the BOWAs but did not see any. On our way back to town, we stopped at Turkey
Crk Rec. Area on Ft. Carson and at the playground farthest east with the metal
fence around the 'playstation' we saw about 30 BOWAs at noon. They were in the
large Gamble oaks and flying down to eat snow and feeding in nearby junipers.
As we were leaving part of the flock flew east and we lost sight of them, then
a moment later the rest of the flock flew south out of sight over the ridge
from the playground.

We had started the morning at Willow St. in Colo. Sprgs to check on the Acorn
Woodpecker, at but did not see it the hour we spent there.
