COBirders,

Just some odds and ends from my yard which is on the east side of Colorado
Springs.  First the odd thing, I have had a CORDILLERAN FLYCATCHER the last two
days singing every song I think it knows.  This is an annual species for my
yard (1 or 2 each late spring) but this bird is more than a month off of that.
I first heard it doing its dawn song yesterday around 10 a.m. and since I have
heard it do many things including things I have never heard from a Cordy.  I
guess it is trying hard to find a mate?

I also had my first juv. WHITE-WINGED DOVE of the year this past Saturday.
This is about 2 weeks sooner than I have ever had them.  I have had
White-winged Doves since 2003 including young birds every year.

And the last thing of note is that I had my first CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD today
which in itself is no big deal but what is interesting is that 7 out of the
last 9 years I have had my first Calliope on July 12th.  The other two years
one showed up on 7/14 and the other on 7/16.  As for Rufous, it has shown up 3
out the last 9 on the 12th but that has been the latest I have had them show
up.  I have not seen a Rufous here yet this year.
