Another birder we met on the trail today was kind enough to point out a 
Great Horned nest right along the trail in Bear Creek Lake Park today.  The 
female is sitting the nest, and the male was napping on the next branch up 
in a Cottonwood.  Another hiker pointed out a Great Horned sitting 
alongside the trail further downstream shortly thereafter.  We weren't sure 
if this was a third owl, or the male from the nesting pair.
 
The nest is in the NW corner of the park, along the trail that parallels 
the creek, and is immediately south of the entrance station.
