Hey all,

Yesterday (Saturday, 5/28), Dan Loiz and I spent the day birding at
several Fort Collins Natural areas and Lory State Park. We had 111
species throughout the day. Highlights were an adult male Red-headed
Woodpecker at Riverbend Ponds, near Cattail Chorus along the Poudre
River Bike trail. The woodpecker was sitting on a trail sign along
the west side of the river just before the trail enters Kingfisher
Point Natural Area. Also seen and heard near this area was an
Ovenbird who was being chased away by an adult male Yellow Warbler.
One adult male American Redstart was seen in a tree just to the east
of the trail as well. Also seen here were Olive-sided Flycatcher,
Least and Willow Flycatchers, and Plumbeous and Warbling Vireos.

At Watson Lake State Fish Hatchery we saw a very nice adult Broad-
winged Hawk. And at Lory State Park along the Well Gulch trail we saw
an adult male Macgillivray's Warbler.

Here's a link to a map showing where the Red-headed Woodpecker was
seen:
