Cobirders: All winter and spring has been an irruptive time for the RED 
CROSSBILL at Genesee Park (I-70, Exit 254, south side of highway 2 miles to 
Group Picnic area and Flagpole). Today we witnessed one adult male feeding 
one young.  Listen for them, and perhaps you will see them in flight or 
feeding in Ponderosa Pine or other trees here at 8000+ feet. I've seen them 
every day this spring that I am in the Park.

Walked around Group picnic area at 8000 feet, and hiked up Summit Trail to 
top of Genesee Mountain at Flagpole (8264').  69-78 degrees, BF 2-3 wind, 
Mostly Clear.

Western Wood-Pewee (Contopus sordidulus)  5

Western Tanager (Piranga ludoviciana)  1     seen by part of group

House Finch (Haemorhous mexicanus)  3

Red Crossbill (Loxia curvirostra)  9     On Ponderosa Pine and firs. Vocal. 
One adult male feeding young.

Lesser Goldfinch (Spinus psaltria)  6     Heard and seen in flight.
