Decided to wend up north to finally check out the Ft Collins bird sites.
Started with the "new" ponds recommended by Gary Lefko and found...... 6
Canucks, 2 mallards, and.... my first grackle of 2010! Must be a slow day.
Off to Grandview Cemetery. Corner of Section 9 is very flickery today (and
robiny too), but the male white wing pops out of the tree for a solid 10 second
look and flies off north.
East to LaFarge area on Drake. Lots of ducks, but nothing cool until I catch a
glint of black/white behind grasses, and they promptly fly off. Looked like
loons? Follow them down the ditch, and it's just a pair of Barrow's
Goldeneyes.
