Hello CO birders.  An odd sighting for the West Slope I'm pretty
sure.  Yesterday morning I has a pair of Lark Buntings fly into my
point count area along Long Gulch just south east of Gunnison.  Access
to the area which is BLM land is by dirt road approx. 4 mi. east of
Gunnison, left before continuing onto the county dump, around a bend,
past a farmstead on your left and into the open sage country!  If
someone needed an exact location of this bird for record purposes
please contact me privately.

We did not have this species on last years surveys and I haven't seen
one yet on the West Slope since early April so I am assuming it is an
interesting record.
