Well Finally! After 10 days of single-digit captures at Clear Spring Ranch
banding, the skies opened today. After a silent start, waves of migrants began
to appear in the netlanes starting about 90 minutes after dawn. First, 2
separate waves of mixed warblers, then a wave of fly

Yup, yet another NOWA at dawn here at Clear Spring Ranch. Pretty amazing.
Also I had a big influx of larger sparrows - 10 Lincoln’s Sparrows, 6 Savannah
Sparrows, and another 21 Chipping Sparrows (525 banded this season, mostly
Hatch-year, of course.) With another Lazuli Bunting

Here at Waterthrush Central the good times continue. TWO more NOWA were banded
at Clear Spring Ranch today, and another was seen by the MAMBO group by the
picnic area.
That makes 8 banded in the last 10 days, and 15 for 2016 (7 Spring). Previous
numbers were 7 for 2012-1015! S

After the weekend away at the CFO convention, I opened nets today at Clear
Spring Ranch to the most activity I had seen since last spring. Highlight was a
Northern Waterthrush but many other FOS also had arrived.
