Dear Cobirders,
This morning (7/16) I got my first Hummingbird visitor of the year in
my yard. A medium-sized, wing-trill-less male Hummingbird came to my
feeder around 9AM and fed from my feeder and flower garden for about
one minute before leaving. The bird had a complete, red gorget,
indicating that it should be an adult male. The bird also lacked
cinnamon tones on the underside and did not pump his tail while
feeding. He did not perch, so I wasn't able to get a look at P10/P9
relative thickness or the shape of the retricies. Although the bird
hasn't returned yet, I'll post if he does and certainly if he becomes
regular. Keep an eye on your feeders in the North Boulder/Gunbarrel
area!

Cheers,
Walter Szeliga
