Kara Carragher and I birded around Pueblo Reservoir today, and other places
in Pueblo. We started around 11am, to let things warm up and the roads to
get less snowy. As usual, for early January, there were other birders
around today as well.
The highlights around Pueblo Reservoir today for us:

While at Pueblo Reservoir, Pueblo County this morning, looking for the
frigatebird, I saw a basic Red-throated Loon (first off Sailboard, then it
flew west by me near the North Shore Marina), nearly ten Common Loons
scattered around the reservoir, at least four Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a
Franklin
Since it is "get outside Black Friday", I got my uncle Van Truan outside
this morning, and we birded Pueblo Reservoir. We saw Red-throated Loon
(1), Pacific Loon (1), Common Loon (3), Red-necked Grebe (1), Glaucous Gull
(1), Great Black-backed Gull (1), Northern Shrike (1), Lincoln's Sparrow
(1),
Hi all,
No sign of the Yellow-billed Loon at all today at Pueblo Reservoir. The
breeding plumage Common Loon continues by the dam. Four non-breeding
plumage Common Loons were in the State Wildlife Area on the NW side of
Pueblo Reservoir as well. This area was pretty good today, a Lesser
Yellowl
Today I found the following birds at Pueblo Res. in Pueblo Co.:
1 Common Loon, near the dam
1 Pacific Loon, at the SWA
1 Lesser Black-back Gull, in the North Marina lagoon
I Long-tailed Duck, at Fishermans Point

Pueblo Reservoir continues to have a few rarities, that were seen by many today.
Long-tailed Duck - 1 male, with a long tail, near the iceline on the west side
of the reservoir. Seen from the SWA on NW side of the reservoir and also seen
from a long ways aways looking west from
I checked out Pueblo Res. yesterday (12/29) for waterfowl. There were
there were hundreds, possibly thousands, of ducks on the water.Mostly C.
Goldeneyes and C. Mergansers west of the North Shore Marina. Unfortunately
