Cobirders, the red headed woodpeckers who have been along the Fowler Trail for the last few years are back. The Fowler Trail is just east of Eldorado Springs, and the birds are in a dead tree where they were the last couple of years (maybe more, I am not sure, but for sure the last two years) about 3/4 mile from the trailhead (which becomes very crowded at times as parking is limited). Also a little ways up the trail is a hybrid indigo/Lazuli bunting, who was there last year, seen this morning in the same snag where he was seen last year. Nice to have a little stability! The bunting has a blue head and bib, whitish belly, no red at all, and seems to be singing a kind of mixed song.
