This morning, while walking to my office at DU (Denver), I encountered a
Rock Wren in a new and neat little depressed rock garden in a parking lot.
This was my first of this bird on campus and, frankly, the most
interesting, non-flyover that I've had on the rather non-birdy "hotspot."

Hey COBirders,
I banded a HY Rock Wren today, (photos available), only my second at Clear
Spring Ranch. Other than that - nothing remarkable EXCEPT a Lincoln’s Sparrow
that was banded BIRD #2000 for this season at CSR! That is now more birds this
August/September than in the last 4 years of sp
Hi all
Quick report ... unexpected Rock Wren this afternoon in yard. Typically, I
can find them during summer rare in fall. Nice to see him boppin' around
yard.
BTW Crom Lake is still full of water--recent birds include: Horned Grebe
and Ruddy Duck.
Thanks

Today at 8 am the birds were warming up on the roads at the Arsenal. At the 90
degree turn of the road inside the bison enclosure was a concrete barrier with
a rock wren sitting on/beside it. Just before the tree with the owlets near the
exit was a Swainson's thrush. Several Say's phoebes and we
I walked Cheesman and the Botanic Gardens this afternoon. A single,
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle) was in the flowering trees in Little
Cheesman. In the Gardens, a Rock Wren is still around, but I did not see
the Common Poorwill. I last saw it yesterday, May 5. My dog and I

Hi all
Our returning Rock Wren "prevented" me from getting to work on time ... :-)
... he was entertaining us on our front porch by "be bopping" around and
sunning himself.

This morning my backyard rocks were visited by a Rock Wren doing deep knee

I enjoy my little spring avian schedule, and it is always satisfying when

I like the bluebirds to arrive with the geese and ducks (and this year, they

I had a rock wren poking around my backyard (136th and Colorado)
yesterday. It was hanging out around the landscaping bricks, so at
least it was in the proper habitat. I just moved out here a few
months ago and was wondering if rock wrens were fairly common around
Denver or if it was just a migr
This morning in my office building's patio area is a Rock Wren
bouncing around. Our office (U. S. Forest Service) is located at
Prospect and College just west of RR tracks on CSU campus. Not sure
how many Rock Wrens show up in urban Fort Collins--seemed a bit
unusual.
Thanks

Our trip to Prewitt did not yield any shorebirds. Lots of gulls on the
water but it was too windy to ID them beyond the Franklin's and Ring-billed.
Our find of the day was a Rock wren on the road around Prewitt. It was
doing what Sibley refers to as "deep knee bends".
We also saw White-throa
