To Each and All: The last snowfalls were very exciting. We had frenzied birds at our feeders, lots of birds dotting too-and-fro, so many that we could not keep track of all of them. Some came down from higher elevations. Some appeared from who-knew-not-where. Some were old friends who reappeared for just a chance to have something to eat.
Now, today, we have direct evidence of sadness: a Western Tanager is at our bedroom door, in *rigor mortis*. There is nothing we can do about it.
