I found a striking male Scarlet Tanager around 7:15 this a.m. at Rose Pond, Chico Basin Ranch (fee) in the willows on the northwest side of the pond seen later by a few others. Gary Koehn found a male Black-throated Green Warbler (sometimes singing) at the HQ Willows easily seen around noon. My FOS Cordilleran Flycatcher at the same location along with Willow Flycatcher (sing) and Northern Waterthrush. The calling Least Bittern continues but has relocated to the southeastern marsh at Rose Pond. Don't expect to actually see it.
