Hi Birders,

Cherry Creek SP offered some nice birds this morning. Carl Stecher alerted
John Streeter and us to the Scarlet Tananger and two Willets in the picnic
table area near the west entrance to the park, and to several other nice
birds. When we saw the Willets, they were on the beach toward the south end
of the picnic area. A female Scarlet Tananger was flying from tree to tree
at the north end of the picnic area. There were also Myrtle and Audubon's
Yellow-rumped Warblers and many Chipping Sparrows in the trees and shrubs
nearby.

A few other birds in the park this morning: Orange-crowned Warbler, House
Wrens, and Yellow Warbler were in the woods near the east parking lot for
the Cherry Ck Trail. Eastern and Western Kingbird, and 4 species of
swallow scatterd throughout the park. A congregation of 11 Wilson's
Phalaropes among the snipe, avocets, sandpipers, at the new wetlands pond.

Good Spring Birding!
