Cobirders,
We had a really good day doing the Spring Count at Cherry Creek State Park. We
tallied 86 species and over 1,900 individuals.
In the early morning we were inundated by all the expected swallows. They were
literally everywhere.
Among the good finds were a Common Loon, Over 35 White-faced Ibis, several
Cooper's Hawks (including one on nest near the swim beach), a Peregrine Falcon,
over 40 Wilson's Phalaropes, a couple of Black-chinned Hummingbirds, one Common
Raven (pretty rare in the park), over 30 Lark Buntings, and a single male
Bobolink (also pretty rare for the park).
