Weld County, Union Reservoir, 10/31/2009:
Red-necked Grebe, 1 winter plumage. Maybe the same bird reported by Todd
Deininger on 10/25.
American White Pelican, 4
Red-breasted Merganser, 1
I did not find any loons.
Boulder County, 10/31/2009:
Ish Reservoir:
Prairie Falcon, 1 adult
Larimer/Boulder County Line, 1/2 mile east of Ish Reservoir
Prairie Falcon, 1 adult, likely the same bird as above.
55th & Monarch, 1/2 mile N. of Boulder Reservoir:
Six-mile Reservoir:
Common Merganser, 1 male
Prairie Falcon, 1 adult.
Urban Boulder, 30th and Walnut:
Golden Eagle, 1 adult circling above the shopping centers. This bird may have
been visible from Folsom Field, and would have provided a better sight than the
CU football team.

I searched NE Boulder County extensively in hopes of finding longspurs, but
didn't even find any Horned Larks.

The bear returned to our yard last night for the fourth night in a row, leaving
a pile of poop and tracks in the snow, but all my feeders were in the garage
this time. I hope he gets discouraged.
