At Stearns Lake (near Dillon Rd. and The Northwest Parkway) this morning, I
heard at least two blue grosbeaks singing and saw a male black-headed grosbeak
along with lots of other birds, including yellow warblers, lark and vesper
sparrows, Bullock's orioles, and scads of mourning doves.

I may have misidentified that Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Got a picture of a Grosbeak that looked different and came later. The later one Nick Komar kindly ID'd from a picture as a female Evening Grosbeak. Thanks, Nick! This is a first-time in my backyard.

Regarding Mr. Todd's grosbeak photos, I would consider Evening
Grosbeak. My son a few miles east of Monument Hill has had Evening Grosbeaks
at his feeders this month.

Between 10:45 and 11:15 am, about two miles north of my house where I saw
and heard a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak today, I saw at least four Blue
Grosbeaks in bushes along an irrigation ditch in K. Helart Open Space off
Monarch Court and had two male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks singing in the same
area
My FOS Black-headed Grosbeak is sitting out on my feeder right now.a
beautiful male.
During last Friday's snowstorm, which dumped 18" on us, my feeders were just
swamped with birds, including 4 Evening Grosbeaks, which I hadn't seen in a
