Cherry Creek State Park, Arapahoe
A lesser black-backed gull, third cycle or full adult, was lined up with
dozens of ringed bills moderately far out from the marina toward the dam
road this morning.
An eared grebe was also on the reservoir, by itself. Tens of westerns were
far out.
White pelicans (about 40) are still there.
One d-c cormorant
Five red-tailed hawks of varying plumages. "The black one" is back for about
the fourth year in the meadow just east/northeast of where Cherry Creek
crosses the main road, with associated foliage. A Cooper's hawk was near
the firing range.
One killdeer
No eagles yet, according to my observations and those of the park rangers
