My wife Laura and I spend about 3 hours at Cherry Creek State Park.  There were 
a numberof other birders there as well as some good birds.  We did not see 
either the Caspian Ternor the Neotropic Cormorant.  Of the 42 species that we 
saw (didn't even make it all aroundthe lake) the best two for us were probably 
on American Bittern at the end of the BeaverPond Interpretative Tour (marker 9) 
next to the dog walking area, and a Broad-winged Hawk.This was the first time 
we have seen either of these birds at Cherry Creek.  Our entire listincludes:
