Mike,

Each persistent document has its own Core Data stack. When you close one, and reopen it, it has a new NSPersistentStoreCoordinator, NSManagedObjectModel, and NSManagedObjectContext.

So any bindings to managed objects or their entity descriptions from the old, deallocated persistent document are effectively invalid.
